When Michelin Star chef, Vineet Bhatia owns a restaurant, the standards are nothing but high. I visited Ashiana a couple of times before, however, this was the first time I visited since Vineet Bhatia took over. He has completely transformed the menu and I personally think it defines fine dining, but the decor and music still hasn’t changed, the place has quite a dull mood which was a let down.  My brother and I ordered a variety of dishes, they all tasted good and was presented very well. The restaurant manager, Sajesh Veedu was very welcoming and recommended dishes that suited our taste palette.

We started with the Ashiana Platter that was served in individual portion, we changed some things around according to our liking but the star of the platter was definitely the Paneer Tikka, It is probably the best Paneer tikka I’ve ever had, it was creamy and had a masala filling. It was delicious! However, the Lamb Seekh Kebab was not that great, it was quite bland and wasn’t cooked to perfection.  For mains, the served us very generous portions which was good to share between four, and since it was just the two of us and we were completely stuffed! The butter chicken and Dal Maharani was creamy and had the perfect spice to it, however the Akhroti Gosht didn’t quite make the mark, the gravy was nice but the lamb itself was either under or over cooked. I would recommend to try everything except the lamb dishes,  I found that the quality of lamb was not as good as it could have been. After all that food, we forced ourselves to try the Saffron Kulfi, and it was so worth it! It’s a must try! Overall, we had a good dining experience and I would definitely go back for that Paneer Tikka!
