Karate Style W/ Style Mafia

Hi everyone, it’s been a while since my last outfit post but I’m back! I have had the busiest few weeks with midterms, assignments, exhibition prep and on top of all this, my sister’s birthday is coming up so I have to make it extra special! BUT, in the midst of all of this, I squeezed in a slot  to shoot an outfit post for you guys and I am so glad I did! I am IN LOVE with my new top from Style Mafia, a US based brand that recently started retailing in Dubai on SIVVI.com. Honestly, as soon as they announced that Style Mafia would be available on their website, I freaked out! I love everything about the brand, their style, design, aesthetic; I’ve always felt they are one of the only modern and curated style brands. When I saw this specific top on SIVVI, my heart skipped beat, it was an impulse buy, I didn’t even think twice. YES, it was a little pricy, it retailed for 260 DHS but if you ask me, its so worth it, the design, the quality and cut all contribute to making this piece a statement. I highly recommend you guys check the Style Mafia pieces ASAP – They are selling like hot cakes! I promise you wont be disappointed.

While constructing this outfit, I wanted the top to be the centre of attention, the STATEMENT! The top is black and going with an all black look wouldn’t make the top stand out, so I decided to pair it with a pair of khaki jeans, it gives it a nice contrast + these jeans are the most comfortable pair I own and I’m all about that comfy life. 😉 If I chose to go with a pair of sneakers with this outfit, it would turn into a effortless chic look. However, I decided to pair it with a pair of gold stilettos; if I were to choose a black heel, which is a common and predictable choice, the look would look super monotone and kind of boring :/. I also added a cute little bag, which added a pop of colour to complete the look.

I chose to go with french braids for this look because I wanted an edgy, casual factor to contrast the sophistication of the top. The makeup is very minimal and natural. I went with a light layer of BB cream, a little touch of blush, and a nude lipstick; here I mixed Taupe and Velvet Teddy from MAC Cosmetics. This clean hair and makeup look still keeps the top at the centre of attention while pulling the look together at the same time.
