As part of a collaboration between Zomato & Emirates NBD, A few selected bloggers and I were invited to go on a food trail. Leopold’s of London was our first stop, and for me was the best! Since I hardly visit the JBR area, I hadn’t heard of this place before but I’m so happy I got introduced to it on the food trail.

When I entered the place, the interiors were so striking, I specifically loved the long ivy wall at the entrance. They paid great attention to detail and had many different types of coffee and tea’s displayed. Since we were dining upstairs, I got to explore that area of the restaurant more. As soon as you enter the area, straight ahead you see an open brewing area and to the left there is a small room that has a vintage coffee machine, it was beautiful, next time I visit I would surely want to learn more about the choice of decor. Our table was facing a wall of tea, I couldn’t stop staring at that wall. It added the perfect finishing touch to a restaurant with such class.

The Zomato foodies and I had a tasting session of the just the tea and a selection of few desserts, below are my thoughts on the items we tried.

Overall, the place, service and menu were very impressive; I’m definitely visiting Leopold’s of London again!

What Was Served

Tea’s

Marrakesh Mint – Strong peppermint taste, refreshing!
Capetown Earl Grey This one was an herbal version of the Earl Grey tea scented with a citrus oil and vanilla. Tasted as a good as it sounds!
Milk Oolong – One of the famous ones, infused with buffalo milk and vanilla, cream and caramel.
Chocolate Diavolo – The tea doctors were quite excited about his one! It smelt like chocolate but little did we know it was a mixture of chocolate and chili, It was like an explosion in my mouth, was not a fan of this one!
Dragon Pearls – This one was my favourite, I love jasmine tea and this had a very strong jasmine taste. Loved it!
Emerald Green – I thought this was an average green tea, but when I took a sip it had a tangy orange taste to it. It was surprisingly nice.

Desert

Ginger Cake – Tastes like ginger, strong ginger, not a fan 🙁
Date cake – Quite good
Spicy Carrot Cake – Spicy and Carrot for me, don’t go together at all, was not a fan of this one either.
Blueberry Vanilla Cheesecake & Caramel Pecan Cheesecake – You can never go wrong with cheesecake! They were both delicious.
Flourless Chocolate Cake – Saving the best for the last, MY FAVOURITE. Couldn’t stop eating this one as soon as I took a bite.
