What is it?
There has been an insane amount of hype behind this product. This translucent powder is claimed to be the queen of the others and even though it’s a little pricey at AED 165, it’s still claimed to be worth it! If you haven’t heard of the Laura Mercier translucent powder before, it is an award-winning, silky powder that is a sheer coverage to set makeup a long lasting finish.
What does it claim to do?
Now this product claims to promise a lot of things, first it locks in the makeup for lasting wear, it’s meant to be the lightest powder and claims to have a sheer coverage while absorbing oil and reduces shine. One of the main pros about this product is that the powder is created with a no-flashback formula which means that when you take selfies, the flash doesn’t bounce back and give you that ghost/no nose selfie – That’s is honestly what sold me out!
What it actually does?
My first impressions about the product was that the outer packaging wasn’t that nice, the cardboard was quite flimsy since the product itself is quite heavy. However, the powder packaging is elegant but could be a little less bulky. I’ve been using this product for a week now and I absolutely love it! It does exactly what it claims to do! AND, also one thing I LOVE LOVE LOVE about it, is that it never makes you look cakey, it just sits on top of your foundation flawlessly. If you’re worried about whether it will work with your skin type, you don’t have to worry! It works on dry, oily and combination skin perfectly! I personally, have dry skin with an oily T-zone, but mostly dry and it works like magic!
How to use?
I normally use it with a powder brush and I find that works best. A lot of people use it to bake with a beauty blender and I’ve tried that too but it just doesn’t work for me. I would suggest applying it with a powder brush and just work it in by buffing it in.
TLDR; Verdict – YES YES YES! BUY IT! Does exactly what it claims to and it is definitely worth the hype.
